Date: May 17, 2012 (Thursday)
Time: 10 a.m.
Theme: Mitochondria and Energetics (stroke, peripheral neuropathy)
Module: Overview
Session: Perinatal ischemia
Instructor: Stephen Back, Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Neuroscience section), OHSU
Objectives: This session will present the clinical features of perinatal ischemia and how the injury and response differ from ischemia in the adult
Study questions:
  1. What is 'periventricular leukomalacia'(PVL)?
  2. Why are oligodendrocytes implicated in PVL?
  3. Does perinatal white matter injury result from hypoxia-ischemia?
