| When a stroke happens, there is no time to waste, i.e. "time is brain".
Dr. Barnwell will present some of the acute interventions that are now in use to
prevent damage. The general approach to be described involves access to blood
vessels in the brain using "endovascular procedures". The procedures include
intracranial thrombolysis, intracranial angioplasty and stenting of occluded
vessels; and the treatment of intracranial aneurysms. |
