OHSU RECEIVES NATIONAL HONORS
Portland, Ore. -- Oregon Health Sciences University is on the receiving end of two national, institutional awards this month. OHSU Hospital was presented with the 1999 Consumer Choice Award and the School of Medicine was recognized for its revolutionary approach to curriculum design and also for its efforts in continuing medical education.

Full Accreditation for Continuing Medical Education Program at OHSU
OHSU's School of Medicine received full accreditation for its efforts in continuing the education of health care providers. The authorization is granted by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education and looks at seven criteria. OHSU received a perfect score with no deficiencies cited. The ACCME recognizes overall excellence and ensures that continued education programs meet accepted standards. "As one of the premier academic health centers in the nation, OHSU provides exceptional educational opportunities for students and professionals alike," said Joseph Bloom, M.D., dean of the School of Medicine. "Our goal is to use outstanding faculty to provide top quality continuing education, help health care providers improve their expertise and stay abreast of medical advancements. The ACCME's full accreditation endorses our efforts."
