OHSU'S OGI SCHOOL OF SCIENCE & ENGINEERING ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENTS, AWARDS
Jack Raiton, M.B.A., has been appointed interim head of the Department of Management in Science and Technology. Raiton, former senior fellow in management in science and technology, has been an OGI faculty member for three years. He will help define and articulate the future direction of the department. He previously was chief financial officer of Planar Systems and corporate controller of Tektronix. Raiton also is active in the AeA (formerly American Electronic Association) and Financial Executives International. He is on the board of advisors for Compli and Storied Learning, two high-tech startups.
The OGI School of Science & Engineering (formerly the Oregon Graduate Institute of Science & Technology) became one of four specialty schools of Oregon Health & Science University in 2001. The school has more than 100 full-time and adjunct faculty, and more than 300 full-time master's and doctoral students who take accredited courses in five academic departments. There are more than 300 part-time master's and doctoral students who take not-for-credit courses, and an additional 1,000 working professionals who take classes through the school's Center for Professional Development. |
