Program Description

The four-year integrated neurology residency program includes an internship year with a strong emphasis in internal medicine and three years of neurology residency. The two major teaching facilities at OHSU for clinical rotations are OHSU Hospital and Clinics and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. A sky bridge connects OHSU and the VAMC. The four year training includes inpatient ward experience, outpatient subspecialty and continuity of care clinics, consultation rotations, elective rotations, and a variety of teaching lectures and conferences. OHSU Neurology Department faculty members have joint appointments at OHSU and VAMC and supervise resident rotations at both teaching facilities. There are 23 full-time neurologists in the department representing all major subspecialty areas.

Residents who have completed one year of appropriate post-graduate training in internal medicine may begin three years of neurology residency directly.

Fellowships also are available for those who would like to sub-specialize after completing neurology residency.
