Resident Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer Opportunities in the Portland Area for OHSU residents. Please
click on the links for more information. This is by no means a complete list.
Please contact the chief residents or the IM Education Office if you would
like to add another opportunity here so that your colleagues can easily access
it.
- Wallace Medical
Concern - WMC is a nonprofit,
volunteer staffed, free health clinic for people without health insurance
and money to pay for care. Through the efforts of over 230 medical volunteers
and the financial support of local individuals, businesses and foundations
The Wallace Medical Concern cares for nearly 2,000 people a year. WMC gets
them back to work, school and caring for their families.
- Homeless
Infirmary Project - The HIP is one of fewer than 30 projects
nationwide. It provides a compassionate and cost-effective way to care
for homeless people who need medical care but whose conditions do not require
hospitalization.
