Biosketch:
After completing Chief Residency in the Department of Medicine, Dr. Allen joined the faculty where she has assumed major roles in undergraduate and graduate medical education serving as the Associate Residency Program Director and one of the coordinators of the Internal Medicine Interest Group. Dr. Allen has been one of the key faculty in introducing and developing evidence-based medicine and critical appraisal of literature training in the Residency Program and has helped to coordinate the Residents Journal Club.
Dr. Allen has also been one of the core group of faculty coordinating the monthly Physical Findings Conference of the Department of Medicine and has presented workshops at the recent Annual National Society of General Internal Medicine meetings on developing mentoring relationships with Internal Medicine housestaff and giving feedback to learners. Recognized as a superb teacher, Dr. Allen has received numerous teaching awards from the graduating classes of the Medical School and the Internal Medicine Residents over the past several years.
