MARC pilot projects are designed to foster new directions for innovative research related to center goals. In keeping with the center's educational component, pilot projects also offer an opportunity to recruit scientists new to drug-abuse research and expose center investigators and trainees to fresh methods and perspectives.
From proposals submitted to the PI, the center selects approximately three projects each spring for funding. For details on applying, please see our information page.
We intend for pilot-project support to allow established investigators to gather preliminary data that will lead to support through R01 and other larger-scale mechanisms.
