SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) provides data and statistical analysis, file management capabilities, graphics and reporting features. Licensing is available for both Windows machines and Macintosh machines. For more information, please visit http://www.spss.com.

Licensing Details

For students, SPSS Gradpacks are available at the OHSU Bookstore.

Staff and faculty of OHSU may purchase a license with either departmental funds or personal funds.

• For departmental renewals and new license purchases complete the SPSS License Agreement for each license and bring it to Library Administration, BICC 304; fax it to 503-494-3227 or send it via campus mail to Valerie Fishler, LIB. Your proof of license purchase and install CD are sent via campus mail or can be picked up by appointment.

• For personal renewals and new license purchases complete the SPSS License Agreement and bring it to Library Administration (BICC 304) along with your OHSU employee photo ID. Payment methods accepted are VISA, MasterCard or cash.

The license is annual and expires every September.

One license is required for each machine SPSS is installed on.

Windows - $175 per new license, $125 per license renewal, $60 per media (CD)
Macintosh - $190 per new license, $120 per license renewal, $60 media (CD)

Technical Information

PC system requirements are Windows XP or VISTA, with a Pentium processor, a minimum of 512 MB of RAM (1GB preferred), and 450 MB of available hard disk space, CD-ROM drive.

Macintosh system requirements are Mac OS X version 10.4 or higher, PowerPC or Intel Processor, a minimum of 512 MB RAM (1GB preferred), 800 MB of hard disk space.

SPSS Technical Support will no longer offer assistance with any SPSS versions prior to version 15.0.

Technical Support for this license program is limited. When issues do arise there are several options available for support-

1. you can use the SPSS technical support page- http://www.spss.com/TechSupport/?source=homepage&hpzone=nav_bar (the serial number is included on your receipt)

2. email a complete description along with error messages to license@ohsu.edu (type "Software License" in the TO: field)

3. call Library Administration at 503-494-6029 and we will work with you and SPSS technical support to resolve the issue.
