Part I - Creating a Personal Ovid AccountChoose your Ovid database.
Once in your Ovid database, click on "Personal Account".
Click on Create a New Personal Account.
Fill in an account name and password and include your email address, then click on Create. Passwords are case sensitive and must be 6-8 characters.
Click on Main Search Page button to return to main screen.
Part II - Saving a Search with your Personal Ovid AccountYou need to create a Personal Account (following the instructions above) before you save a search. After you have created a Personal Account you can then save your searches. Get into Ovid and do a search. Below is an example of a search. Once you are satisfied with your search, click on Save Search/Alert.
You will be asked to log in using your Personal Ovid Account userid and password that you set up.
Once you are logged into the "Save Search" area, type in a Search Name to refer to your search, any Comments that describe the contents of that search, and designate a Type for that search.
After making your choices, click on Save. When you go back, the main page will show your personal account name.
Part III - Retrieving Saved SearchesWithin Ovid, click on the Saved Searches link.
You will be asked to log in using your Personal Ovid Account.
After logging in with your Personal Ovid Account, click the checkbox for the search you want to bring up, then click on "Run".
After clicking on "Run", you will get the following page.
You have to click on the "Main Search" button to get back to the main page with your executed search. Your search results will appear as you created them the first time. Click on Display for the line of your search for which you want to see results.
