The OHSU Library pays for subscriptions to the following resources. Part of that subscription includes handheld access or software.
Provides PDA downloads within AccessMedicine content. To use this content you must first create your own personal login information in MyAccessMedicine. While you are logged in you will see a link to download files to your PDA as they are available.
Provides mobile use of the "Quick Topics" from the Emergency Medicine Manual, searchable topic cards for all textbook resources currently on the AEM site, and drug monographs. You must create a MyAccessEM personal login and password to access smartphone applications from the Access Emergency Medicine page.
Users must use a unique serial number to download and use DynaMed for handheld devices. Contact Dynamed to get a serial number for a free download of PDA applications. (Please note you must e-mail Dynamed from an OHSU e-mail address to get the serial number through the OHSU Library's subscription.) The software supports Palms, PocketPCs, Smartphones, BlackBerry, and iPhone. See also the DynaMed Technical Information.

Sciences Collection, and more. It will allow you to e-mail articles, and
view HTML and PDF Full text. Works for most smartphones.
Provides a mobile interface for searching IEEE Digital Library. From your results list you can e-mail yourself citations and abstracts to view later. The product is still in Beta testing, so let us and IEEE know how you like it.
Provides portions of JAMAEvidence for Smartphones. Portions are: "Quick Reference" pocket cards from Users' Guides to the Medical Literature and the "Make the Diagnosis" sections from The Rational Clinical Examination. You must have a personal login and password for this site, which you can create at JamaEvidence's home page from the MyJamaEvidence link. Functions with: iPhone original and 3G, BlackBerry 8300 series and higher (default browser only), Google's Android platform, and Palm Treo.
MobileMicromedex is now Thompson Clinical Xpert. It covers information on drugs, drug interactions, diseases, labs, alternative medicines, toxicology, and calculators. Register by clicking on the "Handheld PDA" tab and follow the instructions.
RefMobile is the handheld version of RefWorks, a citation management tool. Use your RefWorks login and password as well as the OHSU Group Code to access RefMobile. (The Group Code is e -mailed to you when you register for a RefWorks account). If you can't find the group code, contact us and we'll get it to you.

This is MedlinePlus's online interface for mobile devices. The interface includes a search able set of patient information health topics as well as drug and over-the-counter medication information. The entirety of Mobile MedlinePlus is available in Spanish, too.
Downloadable software provides access to The Merck Manual, Reuters Medical News, and Harrison's Practice–Answers on Demand. Wireless access using a handheld enables full use of MerckMedicus. You must register with the site to use the wireless access for your handheld.
