Comprehensive is an interactive application designed for intensive anatomical study. It features multimedia concepts designed to make learning about anatomy simpler and more meaningful. Comprehensive's highlighting tool allows for deployment in anterior, posterior, lateral or medial perspectives. Study system to system or structure to structure. Extensive labeling lets users point and identify minute details at any depth. Comprehensive is currently available to be checked out for in-library use only on the Mac platform.

Optional Studio product (available at Dental Library only) allows users to create interactive books and documents using ADAM anatomy images and resources. Use Studioto manage documents; create links to multiple file formats; work with text and graphics; create electronic courseware; construct medical charts, patient education documents, and record keeping systems; and publish electronic books.

The Anatomy Project

A series of 20 CD-ROMs (8 currently available) covering the whole of topographical, functional, and clinical human anatomy region-by-region and chapter-by-chapter for students and professionals in all areas of medicine and allied health. CD's feature 3-D rendering ofspecially commissioned prosections, still and real-time medical imaging, histology, and live action. 50 minutes of movie tutorials are on each CD. Also included are interactive atlases, searchable glossaries, chapter summaries with digital video review, and interactive questions with remediation of wrong answers.

Human Anatomy

Human Anatomy is intended to facilitate gross anatomy study by providing a step-by-step guide to cadaveric dissection and simulation of the dissection procedures. Human Anatomy combines concise textual descriptions with detailed images resulting in a comprehensive electronic dissection tutorial. More than 6,000 images and illustrations serve as a visual guide to the laboratory experience. Practical exam questions provide challenging testing and feedback. Human Anatomy runs either the Mac or PC platform and is available to be checked out for a 7 day period.

Microscopic Anatomy

(On Reserve- Main Library and Dental Library)
Microscopic Anatomy contains 1,300 color photographs of typical histological specimens, each one supported by detailed textual information. The Flash Cards feature allows users to view images in random order and serves as a type of practical examination. Student input helped shape the test and review utilities and led to the intuitive navigational feel of the program. Microscopic Anatomy runs either on the Mac or PC platform and may be checked out for a 7 day period.

Radiologic Anatomy

(On Reserve- Main Library and Dental Library)
Radiologic Anatomy is a multimedia tool for teaching radiologic anatomy at an introductory level. This CD program allows users to progress through the material in either a linear or an interactive manner. Users can choose a specific organ or region and switch back and forth between three imaging techniques- plain film, computer tomographic (CT) scanning, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Each cross-sectional image is accompanied by a line drawing documenting the plane of section and orientation (axial, sagittal, or coronal). The self-evaluation option provides randomly generated questions on each selected body region. Radiologic Anatomy runs on either the Mac or PC platform and may be checked out for a 7 day period.

CardioViewer 3-D

Using stunning virtual reality technology, Cardioviewer 3-D is a high content tool for learning detailed cardiac anatomy and for studying cardiac structures in a functional context. The three main components include interactive labeling of a beating human heart model, digital dissection of the thorax, heart, and other anatomical images, and a clinical cardiology section, with animation and actual footage explaining coronary disease and how it is studied. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome/Medical Interactive Applications

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome was designed by Dr. Richard Hodach, a board certified specialist in Neurology. In his clinical practice it became evident to Dr. Hodach that illustrations and drawings of carpal tunnel anatomy and pathology helped his patients understand and manage their condition. This interactive CD allows this information to be made available to everyone and by the inclusion of video, animation and graphics, in addition to text and sound, it enables the level of understanding to go beyond conventional methods. Interactive Atlas of Human Anatomy contains superb anatomy illustrations of Dr. Frank Netter. Users can search for plates they want to see by several different methods, and can choose to view the illustrations with or without structure labels. Several self-test features are included to help in exam preparation. All of the illustrations found in the Atlas of Human Anatomy textbook are contained on the CD. Masticatory Muscles and Anesthesia of the Mandibular Nerve

This courseware contains 4 chapters: Osteology, Myology, Dissection & Clinic and includes an assessment. Part 1 presents a complete review of the masticatory function, with a detailed description of the infrahyoid, the suprahyoid and the masticatory group of muscles. Part 2 deals with the anatomy & anesthesia of the mandibular nerve. The clinical section presents 3 techniques of anesthesia for the inferior alveolar nerve.
