The open enrollment period is Oct. 1 - Oct. 31, 2009.
Saturday, Oct. 31 is the last day to enroll for benefits.
You'll notice a new visual element in our materials this year as we start to better brand our benefit programs. The tree – as a symbol of life, growth and renewal – represents the array of health, wellness and financial components of your total compensation package. Wherever you see this tree, you'll know the information relates to one of your many OHSU benefits.
We have expanded the OHSU PPO network. The Tuality Health Alliance, featuring Tuality Hospital and its associated physicians, is now in-network for the OHSU PPO. Members of the OHSU PPO may now receive any qualifying medical services within the Tuality network and receive the same in-network benefit as the existing OHSU provider network. This new partnership also extends the same arrangement to Tuality's employees in their health plan—they may now utilize OHSU providers as core members of their employee health plan.
You will have easier access to online enrollment. With the change to "single sign-on," you no longer need to remember a separate password to enroll in benefi ts. Your regular network sign-on will also access Employee Self Service Benefits.
We have expanded the bariatric surgery coverage to include Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding (LAGB), in addition to Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass.
2010 monthly premium rates for medical plans will increase an average of 9 percent, reflecting an increase in actual medical costs to the plan. The dental plans' rates have increased from zero to 20 percent, depending on the plan. Costs of the voluntary plans – life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment, and short- and long-term disability – will remain about the same. Final 2010 rates will be included in open enrollment materials available online beginning in October.
