In General

In the bathroom, check bathtub and shower areas, water temperature, rugs and mats, lighting, small electrical appliances, and storage areas for medications.

  • No scatter rugs.
  • Grab bars by the toilet and tub. Check existing bars for strength and stability, and repair if necessary.
  • Telephone you can reach if you should fall.
  • Are there enough towel bars?

Is the bathroom comfortably warm in the morning and after a shower or bath?

Are the plumbing pipes free from leaks?

Are all entry, closet and cabinet doors able to swing without interrupting walkways or blocking fixture use?
