If you are not yet comfortable looking for information in Web sites, the information on this page will help you.

The Rules of Navigation:

• Some pages have material that will show only if you click on the scroll bar at the right of your screen and move it down.
• The browser's "back" button takes you back to the prior page.
• "Home" takes you to this website’s home page, a good place to start or start over.
• The "Site Map" is like a table of contents and gives you an overview of what’s on this site.
• Links within the site are shown as underlined words and by the cursor turning into a picture of a hand. Once you have clicked on a link it changes color. This will help you remember where you have been on the site.

Top Navigation:

The dark blue bar toward the top of each page is a "navigation bar" and contains the main topics of this website. Clicking on one of the words in this navigation bar will take you to the introductory page for that section. You can think of these sections as being similar to the major section headings in a book.

Secondary Navigation:

We've used the left column of each page for "secondary navigation." Here you'll see a list of the topics that make up the section you have selected from the top navigation bar. These topics are like the chapters within a major section of a book.

Third Level Navigation:

When you click on a topic in the secondary navigation area, you’ll go to a page that has information about the topic. In the white area of the page, at the top, you might see some more links that will take you to information in another part of the "chapter" you are in. This is the third level of navigation.

Some pages have a "see also" suggestion enclosed in a rectanglular box. The "see also" link goes to another page in this site that we think you might want to see. For example:

Links to other sites with information on this topic:

Some pages have links that will take you to other websites, away from The Prepared Caregiver site. You can return to The Prepared Caregiver by clicking the "back" button in the upper left of your screen.

Links at the Bottom of each Page:

At the bottom of every page you'll see links that take you to the main website for Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). If you click one of these links you will leave The Prepared Caregiver and will need to use the "back" button to return.

About Printing:

You can print information from this site by using your browser’s print command or clicking on the print icon. The page you are currently looking at will print.
