My granddaughter was born very, very sick in March of 2010. She was transferred to Doernbecher's 2 days after her birth, diagnosed with PPHN. She spent the first 30 days of her life hooked up to an ECMO machine and the physicians and nurses were so incredible with her. They were caring, efficient, knowledgeable and the nurses never faltered in their commitment to caring for Kaylie. We will never forget the day we went to visit her and she was no longer hooked up to the ECMO and was breathing on her own - my daughter held her for the first time that day, she was 28 days old. It was an amazing miracle and we will never be able to thank the staff at Doernbecher enough for saving our girl!
