Course Objectives

After this course, attendees will be able to:

  • Understand the neurophysiologic basis of addiction and apply this to clinical practice. Participants will also be able to describe pharmacologic treatments for addiction and apply them to clinical practice.

  • Describe the diagnostic features of common sleep disorders and apply them to clinical practice.

  • Identify and evaluate new stroke treatments and apply them to clinical practice.

  • Identify major recent findings for adult spinal deformity diagnoses, list treatment options and understand
    physical exam diagnostic differentials and apply them
    to clinical practice.

  • Identify and evaluate new treatment options and future possibilities for the surgical management of psychiatric disease.

  • Identify and evaluate radiosurgery as a relevant treatment option for medically refractory epilepsy.

  • Identify and evaluate MR guided laser ablation as an evolving treatment modality for epileptic and neoplastic brain lesions and apply this information to their clinical practice.

  • Identify and evaluate MVD as a treatment option for trigeminal neuralgia and apply this information to their clinical practice.
