The Parkinson Center of Oregon and Movement Disorders Program

The Parkinson Center of Oregon is the largest clinic of its kind in the Pacific Northwest and is a National Parkinson Foundation Center of Excellence. Parkinson’s disease affects thousands of people in the Northwest and is the second most common degenerative neurological disorder.

Contrary to popular belief, Parkinson’s is not an "old person's" disease. An increasing number of people diagnosed now are under the age of 50. However, the array of symptoms and the progression of the disease varies among individuals, making it difficult to diagnose. While there is no cure, therapies can control symptoms and maximize function and quality of life.
