The Oregon Colorectal Cancer Registry [OCCR] was established in 2006 by the Digestive Health Center and the Department of Surgery at the Oregon Health and Science University.
The purpose of the registry is to:
- understand the inheritance of colorectal cancer syndromes
- promote colorectal cancer screening
- collect blood and tissue samples for future research
- expand availability of genetic counseling
- promote ongoing cancer prevention education
- serve as patient advocates
- serve as a resource for healthcare providers, patients, and the general public
