Gastrointestinal (GI) Malignancies
The OHSU Gastrointestinal (GI) Malignancies Group focuses on the research and treatment of cancers of the gastrointestinal tract. GI cancers are a broad group of many different complex cancer types involving the esophagus, hepatobiliary system, pancreas, small bowel and large bowel.
What sets our program apart from others in the region is our focus on interdisciplinary care. Our team of specialists hold a weekly GI Tumor Board meeting to discuss our patients’ cases and formulate treatment plans that are right for each patient.
Our interdisciplinary team includes medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, gastroenterologists, pathologists, interventional radiologists, as well as specialized oncology nurses and oncology social workers.
We are also extensively involved in wide variety of GI cancer-focused research, from basic science to clinical trials and offer our patients access to clinical trials, where appropriate.
