Requirements:
- 50 mg muscle or 6.0 mL whole blood in EDTA vacutainer tube. Call the Lab at 503-494-5400 if you have questions. For requisition slips.
- Reference Range:
- This test detects point mutations that are present in levels greater than or equal to approximately 5% of total mtDNA.
- Comments:
- Two point mutations can be identified by this MERRF test, one at nucleotide 8344 and one at nucleotide 8356.
