Requirements:
- 4 mL blood, RED top tube. Send to Lab within 30 minutes or spin and freeze serum immediately. For requisition slips.
- Pediatric Specimen
Requirements:
- 3 mL blood, RED top tube. Send to lab within 30 minutes or spin and freeze serum (200 microL) immediately.
- Comments:
- HCV genotyping determines the genetic subtype of HCV, which may be useful for predicting response to antiviral therapy. The patient should have a DOCUMENTED HCV viremia (by a qualitative or quantitative PCR based method) at the time of HCV genotype analysis. Call the Lab at 503-494-5400 for more information.
