Requirements:
- 20-30 mL peripheral whole blood, LAVENDER top tube. Deliver to the lab within 4 hours of draw, OR mix with RPMI/10% FBS stabilization media and deliver to the lab within 24 hours of draw. Keep cold. For requisition slips.

- Interpretation:
- BCR-ABL RNA may predict CML disease burden.

- Comments:
- Quantitative RT-PCR for t(9;22) BCR-ABL RNA relative to g6PHD housekeeping gene. Specimens with a result of "undetected" will be reflexed to the ultra sensitive BCR-ABL RNA Qualitative assay. Call the lab at 503-494-5400 if you do not want the reflext test performed.
