OHSU & the Environment
As the largest employer in Portland, OHSU serves as a leader among health care institutions in its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. For example, did you know:
  • South Waterfront's Center for Health & Healing earned LEED Platinum
  • Kohler Pavilion was constructed following the environmentally focused Green Guide to Healthcare
  • OHSU recycling services are free
  • OHSU saves money using natural resources wisely while protecting the environment

Raising environmental awareness and taking action can occur in a variety of ways. Such as adding recycling services to your department, attending GreenTeam's monthly meetings, or joining a No Ivy pulling event, members feel good about being involved with the GreenTeam.

Farmers Market resumes May 19
The OHSU Farmers Market resumes Tuesday, May 19 (see the flier), with prepared food, entertainment—and of course, farm-fresh produce. Come out for lunch, fresh produce and more at the grassy area near the OHSU auditorium (and the fountain) each Tuesday through October 6, 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

An interactive vendor map will soon be posted on the Farmers Market Web site to help you find vendors and consider their production and growing methods (organic, food alliance certified, no spray, etc.). Also coming soon: an option to buy online. You can also sign up for Farmers Market updates and the Market Basket newsletter, delivered by email.
