Illumina Arrays for
Illumina Gene Expression Analysis
Illumina provides two types of array for mouse and human gene expression analysis
- MouseRef8, HumanRef8. The Ref8 array has about 24,000 unique probes. The sequences of the probes are based on the data available in the NCBI RefSeq (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/RefSeq/) collection. Each Ref8 slide contains eight copies of the array, allowing up to eight samples to be analyzed at one time.
- MouseWG-6, HumanWG-6. The WG6 array has about 48,000 unique probes. This array includes all of the probes from the Ref8 array, but then adds probes based upon other sequence databases. Each WG6 slide contains six copies of the array, allowing up to six samples to be analyzed at one time.
Illumina also provides one array for rat gene expression analysis
- The RatRef12 array has about 24,000 unique probes. The sequences of the probes are based on the data available in the NCBI RefSeq collection. Each RatRef12 slide contains twelve copies of the array, allowing up to twelve samples to be analyzed at one time.
Ilumina Genotype Analysis
Illumina offers a broad selection of genotyping products for whole genome genotyping, custom genotyping, copy number variation, and methylation analysis.
Human Whole Genome Genotyping.
- Human1M array contains over 1 million SNPs targeting genes, tag SNPs, copy number variation, and other high-value genomic regions.
- Human610Quad array assays over 620,000 genetic variations in a four-sample per slide format.
- HumanLinkage-12 array is designed to allow the mapping of disease-causing loci that are co-inherited with the phenotype of interest. The array contains 6090 SNPs that are evenly distributed across the genome. Each slide allows the analysis of up to twelve samples.
Human Copy Number Variation
- Human1M array contains over 1 million SNPs targeting genes, tag SNPs, copy number variation, and other high-value genomic regions.
Custom genotyping analysis
- Select up to 1536 SNPs relevant to the population to be studied
- Assay samples in a 96-well format for large population studies
Human Methylation Analysis
Illumina has two formats for human methylation analysis
- Infinium based assay which targets 27,000 known methylation sites
- Golden Gate assay in 96 well format for interrogating panels of relevant sites
Non-human Genotyping
- CanineSNP20 array interrogates 22,362 evenly spaced SNP probes in a 12 sample per slide format.
- BovineSNP50 array interrogates more than 54,000 evenly spaced SNP probes in a 12 sample per slide format.
