AMC Implements new LIMS!
The team at the Affymetrix Microarray Core is excited to inform our users of
the implementation of our new Laboratory Information Management System or LIMS.
The Nautilus LIMS (Thermo Scientific) is a flexible and configurable software
system suitable for dynamic core laboratories such as the AMC.
After significant investment of time and resources to configure the system to
match and support AMC operations,
the
first
project was successfully recorded into the LIMS.
The new LIMS allows us to increase the effectiveness of our comprehensive record
keeping and easily query all aspects of a a project, including all reagents
and materials used. It also allows us to query
within and across projects to identify patterns that help with troubleshooting
and making informed decisions about appropriate protocols and workflows in order
to provide
a
better service to our users.
