Hands on tutorial for the Affymetrix Microarray Suite
(MAS) 5.0 software
This tutorial offers investigators an opportunity to
use the MAS 5.0 software and familiarize themselves with Affymetrix'
process of generating data from the microarray image. The goal of the
tutorial is to provide investigators with an introduction to MAS 4.0
and its tools. The tutorial will consist of a short overview of MAS 5.0
and then a hands on walk-through of the software. If you wish, you may
bring your own Affymetrix data to work on after the tutorial.
Prior to scheduling a MAS tutorial,
investigators need to have attended AFFYMETRIX GENECHIP PLATFORM
AND EXPRESSION ANALYSIS WITH MAS 5.0
Training on StatSoft Statistica data analysis software
This is a hand-on training course in how to load chip
data, generate scatter plots and operate the software options. It does
not cover theory or programming.
Training on Microsoft Excel software
This is a hand-on training course in how to manipulate,
filter, and mine smaller microarray data sets in Microsoft Excel.

NetAffx
Analysis Center: What it is and how to use it
The NetAffx™ Analysis Center is a website developed
and maintained by Affymetrix, Inc. It is designed to enable researchers
to correlate their GeneChip® array results with array design and
annotation information. This resource provides access to array content
information, including probe sequences and gene annotations. An overview
of the NetAffx site will be given and information on how to use the information
and tools will be provided.
Affymetrix GeneChip Platform and Expression Analysis
with MAS 5.0
Presented by Chris Harrington, Ph.D Manager, Affymetrix Microarray Core
This 2 hour workshop will focus on GeneChip array design,
data formats and algorithms for expression
analysis of microarray data with Affymetrix Microarray Suite (MAS) software.
It is open to current and past
users of the Affymetrix Microarray Core. The workshop is designed to
assist investigators in understanding and interpreting the microarray
data provided to them by the AMC. Only a limited number of participants
can be accommodated.
