    December 2007 Survey Highlights

This past December we did a campus-wide survey of staff and students and had tremendous results. 2456 people responded to our survey.

Your favorite reasons to visit the market were to get local fresh produce, to support local farmers, and to have the convenience of shopping while at work. The market most affected your enjoyment of being outside, your thoughts regarding the local economy and your increased sense of community.

Approximately ˝ of the visitors noted that their intake of fruits and vegetables increased, that the OHSU FM increased the amount of fresh produce cooked in their home prepared meals and that their value of locally grown foods increased.
These are the kinds of reasons we started the market and will continue to grow its success.

Although only 36% said they came on their lunch break, we realize that the majority of the market hours were not during lunch.. and many comments indicated a desire for more prepared foods vendors and lunchtime hours. We will now hold the market from 11:30 to 3:30. We will also pilot a program to serve your after-hours needs.
