2009 OHSU Farmers Market Selection Guidelines

What incentives do we have for you to join our market?

  1. Lunchtime Hours from 11:30-3:30, requested by staff who have time only during lunch breaks to visit the market. 90% of customers are staff.
  2. OHSU Market Basket: A cross between a farmers market and a CSA. OHSU is a working environment and not all staff has time for the market. This project will serve those customers. We will work with you, the vendor, to create a bag full of produce and other goods bought directly from vendors each week. Customers will pick up the bag after the work day on Tuesday afternoons. We hope to accommodate the day, swing and night shift employees with this offering.
  3. It's All Good Farmers Market Items: The OHSU Food and Nutrition (F&N) Dept is dedicated to purchasing local goods for resale at our healthy convenience store located on the 9th floor of South Hospital and 1st floor of Casey Eye Institute.
  4. $3 Gift Tokens: Tokens for the market are on sale throughout the week at our It's All Good stores. They can be personally purchased or employees can use their badge or special meal tickets paid for by OHSU to buy tokens. OHSU subsidizes many of these meals and encourages our employees to frequent the market.
  5. Seasonal Menus at OHSU: We are buying more produce directly from FM vendors for our retail cafes.
