Classes: Policies (updated)

Payments

Purchase items (classes, vouchers, etc...) that are paid via departmental Alias are considered billed (and non-refundable) the day of purchase. For classes, once the class "ticket" has been purchased there is no refund. In the event of a cancellation the purchased class ticket can be used as credit for a future class.

Absences

Absence is defined as failing to show up for a class that was registered for without prior cancellation or notification.
Students who fail to show up for a registered class without canceling online or notifying IT Training at least one business day prior to the class will forfeit any applicable class fee and registering for a future class will require a new payment.

Frequent absenteeism (three absences in one six month period) may result in one or more of the following actions:

  • Loss of class privileges
  • Notification to supervisor of absenteeism
  • Payment information collected up front for all classes, free or not
  • An absenteeism charge of $50

Tardiness

Students who arrive 15 or more minutes late to class may be asked to leave and reschedule to a future class. Frequent tardiness will be recorded with the student record and may be followed up on with the students supervisor.

Wait List

Waiting lists are managed by our TrainingForce class registration system. Students who are on a waiting list will be placed in seats that become available on a first come first serve basis (based on the day/time the registration was received).

Class Cancellations

The IT Training department reserves the right to cancel a class that fails to meet the minimum number of registered participants (four). Notifications will go out to any registered participants 2-3 business days prior to the class via e-mail if a class is going to be cancelled.

Some cancellation exceptions may be made based on the needs of the learners registered.

Late cancellations due to instructor illness, inclement weather, or other issues beyond our control will also be communicated via e-mail as well as voice mail and posted notices at the classroom.

IT Training will make every effort to accommodate students who are inconvenienced by cancelled classes.

Students may self cancel from a class online at their convenience, up to 1 day prior to class. See this how-to for details: TrainingForce LaunchPad How-to.
