Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery
RESIDENCY TRAINING
The residency training program offered by the Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine is a fully accredited, five-year residency program covering the entire field of otolaryngology. Directed by Mark A. Richardson, M.D., Professor and Chairman, the department is autonomous and offers a curriculum covering the surgical, clinical and research areas of otolaryngology/head and neck sugery.
The program consists of one year of general surgery (PGY-1) taken at this institution, followed by four years of otolaryngology. The surgical positions are assured for applicants accepted to the program.
Two residents are appointed to the program each year. Residents are assured of receiving close instruction by 11 full-time clinical faculty and ten full-time research faculty.
