Product Highlights

Dysport is now available

The newest injectable product- Dysport® - is now being offered our physicians. Very similar to Botox Cosmetic®, Dysport® effectively treats frown lines, crows’ feet, and forehead wrinkles by weakening the muscles that cause them.

For over two years, doctors from throughout the US have waited for Dysport® to receive FDA approval. Reports show that it has a slightly longer duration than Botox Cosmetic® (typically four versus three months of efficacy), and is priced slightly lower.

. Please call our office, 503 494-5678, or email @ohsu.edu to learn more.

Sculptra Aesthetic Allows Gradual Long-Lasting Improvement in Signs of Aging

Stephen Weber, MD. PhD

Sculptra Aesthetic is a new, FDA-approved, injectable treatment designed to gradually correct aging-related facial volume loss and sagging of facial tissues. Although Sculptra Aesthetic is newly approved by the FDA, there has been significant experience with this safe and effective product in Europe. This product contains poly-L-lactic acid which triggers your body to create new collagen, resulting in tighter and fuller facial tissues. Unlike shorter-term filler products, Sculptra Aesthetic treatment causes your body to recreate its own collagen resulting in long-lasting benefits. Sculptra Aesthetic treatment results in gradual, progressive restoration of facial volume and the facial contours associated with youth. Most patients will require three treatment sessions in the office, each separated by one month. You can return to work the day following each treatment. Creation of new collagen takes place gradually during the course of treatment resulting in long-lasting improvement in facial contours. The results last up to 2 years after which a "touch-up" treatment can be used to extend the results. If you are interested in learning more about Sculptra Aesthetic both of our facial plastic surgeons, Dr. Tom Wang and Dr. Stephen Weber, are available to answer your questions. Both are highly-trained and experienced injectors of Sculptra and Sculptra Aesthetic.

Aesthetics

Peptides are the key building blocks of all living tissues. They are responsible for regulating numerous biochemical processes within the skin and other organs. They control vital functions including tissue metabolism, immune response, digestion, delivery of nutrients and oxygen among myriad other functions.  One of the major causes of skin aging is the lack of collagen, a protein whose production is controlled by certain peptides. Therefore, one of the most effective topical uses of peptides is the treatment of aging skin. Applying peptides whose molecules are small enough to penetrate the top layer of skin can stimulate collagen production, reducing fine lines and wrinkles caused by sun damage and aging. Since they are found naturally in the body, peptides can be used to safely and effectively treat skin of all types and colors. Try our Peptide Skin Smoothing Serum and our newly reformulated Peptide Lip Therapy

We have several seasonal treatments offered from PCA Advanced Skin Care System along with body treatments to get your skin ready for the holidays. Please call our office or go to our website for more information.
