WELCOME

Our Emergency Medicine Residency Program, originated in 1978, is a fully accredited, three-year program that accepts eight residents per year at the EM-I level. We are committed to excellence in Emergency Medicine Education.

The current curriculum is a mixture of clinical and didactic experiences designed to expose each resident to every aspect of emergency medicine.

The Revolution Will Not Be Televised…

For those that still use a paper calendar, while your colleagues are shamelessly flaunting the latest Palm Treo PDA/phone device, prepare yourselves. Just when you thought the internet revolution had finally ended, prepare yourselves for a new era in internet-based information dissemination. The Blog, or “Web Log”, has taken internet communication to an entirely new level. Blogs are individual websites which display journal-style entries, often in reverse chronological order. They are opinion spaces that reflect a user’s thoughts on a variety of topics from gourmet cuisine to healthcare and geo-political policy development.

Most importantly, however, Blogs now represent the continual electronic evolution of the public forum. These spaces allow a host of users to read, engage, and respond to ideas in a dynamic fashion. Many Blog spaces will combine text, images, music, and even video, to create a comprehensive multi-media experience. They provide links to other Blogs and facilitate the development of an electronic network of sorts.

Check out the new OHSU Emergency Medicine Blog at www.ohsuem.blogspot.com. Follow the adventures of 27 residents at the nation’s premier EM Residency Program.
