The Revolution Will Not Be Televised…
For those that still use a paper calendar,
while your colleagues are shamelessly flaunting
the latest Palm Treo PDA/phone device, prepare
yourselves. Just when you thought the internet
revolution had finally ended, prepare yourselves
for a new era in internet-based information
dissemination. The Blog, or “Web Log”, has taken
internet communication to an entirely new level.
Blogs are individual websites which display
journal-style entries, often in reverse chronological
order. They are opinion spaces that reflect
a user’s thoughts on a variety of topics from
gourmet cuisine to healthcare and geo-political
policy development.
Most importantly, however, Blogs now represent
the continual electronic evolution of the public
forum. These spaces allow a host of users to
read, engage, and respond to ideas in a dynamic
fashion. Many Blog spaces will combine text,
images, music, and even video, to create a comprehensive
multi-media experience. They provide links to
other Blogs and facilitate the development of
an electronic network of sorts.
