Faculty Excellence in Education Award
Patrick Brunett, M.D., FACEP
Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine
Pat Brunett's dedication to resident education was recognized, when he honored for outstanding contributions to the education mission in the School of Medicine. OHSU School of Medicine's Dean Mark Richardson, MD, MBA, presented Dr. Brunett with Faculty Excellence in Education Award at award's ceremony in the Fall of 2010.
Dr. Brunett is the Vice Chair for Education, and Director of the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at OHSU.Dr. Brunett also serves on the Community Health Physician Advisory Group for OHSU. He completed his residency training at the University of California-Irvine, and his fellowship in Emergency Medicine at the University of California-Irvine Medical Center. He became board certified in Emergency Medicine in 1994.
Along with his duties as a clinician and educator here at OHSU, Dr. Brunett was one of two 2011 Academic Assembly Program Committee Co-Chairs for Council of the Council of Emergency Medicine Residency Directors (CORD).
The theme of the recent conference was "Residency 2.0: Integrating Technology Into Training." Emergency Medicine Educators gathered in San Diego on March 3-5. Speakers addressed such topics as the effect of social networking sites, the use of online modalities in EM training, and the implications of teaching physicians in the information age.
