Summer Injuries

Dr. David Spiro, Chief, Pediatric Emergency Services, was a guest on AM Northwest on KATU on June 1 to demonstrate some vital steps to know when handling a summer emergency with your child. Below is the second video from that appearance.


Video 2 - Jump/Fall into Pool (Drowning)

Important Things to Remember
  • The most important thing once again is to call 911.
  • Second make sure to do A-B-C.
  • A-Airways, make sure their airway is open and neck is alligned
  • B-Breathing, check to see if child is breathing, if not tilt up their chin and give two rescue breaths to try to clear water.
  • C-Check for pulse.
