Dr. Erickson joined the Department of Emergency Medicine as a full-time faculty member in August 2012. She had been an adjunct faculty member at OHSU since October of 2010 after completing an Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship at Denver Health Medical Center. Dr. Erickson currently serves as the Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship Director. Her academic interests include medical student education, musculoskeletal and pulmonary ultrasound, and international medicine and in her free time she enjoys hiking, snowboarding, mountain biking and spending time with her family.

O. John Ma, MD

In January of 2007, Dr. John Ma was appointed Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University and he is currently the chair of the Professional Board for OHSU Healthcare. Dr. Ma also served as Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine in 2006 at the University of Missouri/Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, where he had been Vice Chair since 2000. Upon graduation from residency, he joined the faculty at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. In addition he has served as an editor on 12 textbooks, including Emergency Ultrasound (both editions) and Tintinalli's Emergency Medicine: A Comprehensive Study Guide, 7th edition. Dr. Ma's academic interests include faculty development, and emergency ultrasound. In his personal time you can find Dr. Ma playing football, basketball and golf as well as writing and enjoying his wife's gourmet cooking.

Dr. Sabbaj joined the Department of Emergency Medicine in 2001. Dr. Sabbaj's special area of interest is Emergency Ultrasound. He is currently the Director of the Emergency Ultrasound Division.
