Dr. Chang joined the Department of Emergency Medicine at OHSU in July of 2012 as a K12 Scholar for the Oregon Multidisciplinary Training program in Emergency Medicine Clinical Research. Dr. Chang most recently completed a fellowship in Emergency Cardiac Care Research at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and her research interests include risk stratification of chest pain patients, transitions of care and care coordination, and gender disparities.

Dr. Newgard joined the Department of Emergency Medicine in 2007. He is currently an Associate Professor and serves as the Director for the Center for Policy and Research in Emergency Medicine. His interests include EMS/out-of-hospital medicine, trauma, and advanced statistics. Dr. Newgard enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, painting, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Fleischman joined the Department of Emergency Medicine at OHSU in 2010 after completing a fellowship in Emergency Medicine Research. He currently serves on the Epic order set committee as well as the inpatient change management and clinical champion teams. His clinical and research areas of interest include medical informatics, pediatric diagnosis, injuries in children and the elderly, pre-hospital care and wilderness medicine. In his spare time, Dr. Fleischman serves as a board member and volunteer at the Portland Mountain Rescue.

Robert A. Lowe, MD, MPH, joined the Department of Emergency Medicine at OHSU in 2001. Dr. Lowe served as a clinician and teacher of Emergency Medicine for over 25 years. He founded the Center for Policy and Research in Emergency Medicine (CPR-EM) and the Emergency Medicine Research Fellowship. His research background includes over 100 peer-reviewed publications, and he currently serves as Principal Investigator of three NIH grants, including OHSU's new K12 Institutional Research Training Grant in Emergency Medical Care.

Dr. John McConnell joined the Department of Emergency Medicine at OHSU in 2002. He is currently the Director of the Emergency Medicine Research Fellowship Program. His interests include health economics, health policy, management practices, and quality improvement. When he's not busy with his research you can find him running, skiing, reading and cooking.

Dr. Sun joined the Department of Emergency Medicine in 2011. He completed a fellowship in health services research at UCLA in the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program. In 2010 Dr. Sun was honored with the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Young Investigator Award. His research studies include geriatric syncope and emergency department crowding, and in his free time you can find him hiking Portland's many trails or rollerblading along the riverfront.
