EMED 709CB Rural Emergency Medicine - South Coast

Course Purpose Statement

This elective provides students with an introduction to all aspects of Emergency Medicine. Students participate in the daily evaluation, treatment and management of patients with attending staff in an urgent care clinic or emergency room or a combination of both. Students will gain an understanding of health care in a rural context. Students in this rotation are expected to participate in a community student project as well as a one hour weekly didactic class.
