Dr. Sheridan honored with Ludwig-Seidel Award

David Sheridan, M.D., M.C.R., receives the Ludwig-Seidel Award at PAS

Congratulations to David Sheridan, M.D., M.C.R., who was recently honored with the APA Ludwig-Seidel Award at the 2017 Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting in San Fransisco, CA.

The award recognizes an abstract from the Annual Meeting of the Academic Pediatric Association that represents the best research project in emergency medicine from a Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellow.

Dr. Sheridan's study, "Low Dose Propofol for Pediatric Migraine: A Prospective RCT," was one of the first new acute therapies for pediatric/adolescent migraine that has been done in a clinical trial in over a decade. His hope is that it provides additional options for treatment when these patients come in with prolonged and debilitating headaches to avoid need for admission. He will be presenting his findings on May 8th at PAS 2017.

Dr. Sheridan completed his Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship with OHSU in the summer of 2016, and has continued on with the department as an Assistant Professor and the Co-Director of IDEA-EM.
