Josh Kornegay, M.D., receives Golden ROSE Award
Healthcare professionals at OHSU are dedicated to providing excellent care and service to every patient, every time. Whether you are calling to make an appointment or entrusting us with a surgical procedure, we want our delivery of care to always meet or exceed your expectations. The ROSE Award recognizes employees, students and volunteers who provide outstanding service beyond the normal scope of their jobs.
Dr. Kornegay is an active and integral part of our ED team. He works well with interdisciplinary colleagues in all aspects of patient care and is particularly respectful of nursing staff. He is adept at teaching as well as listening. Josh's personality and sense of humor enhance the work environment and make the ED a more pleasant place to work. Josh often takes time to work with triage nurses to expedite patient care. He proactively writes orders on patients in the lobby to help complete workups in a timely manner. On more than one occasion Josh has come in early to help improve patient throughput in the ED. While boarding patients, attending traumas and with triage full- Josh still takes time to read triage EKGs without hesitation. No matter what size the task Josh is willing to pitch in and help out. He never considers a job beneath him. He performs well in high stress environments, while still providing quality patient care. Dr. Kornegay has earned ubiquitous respect from his colleagues in leading by example and showing a high level of integrity.
