As a design engineer, Hans Timmermans strives to perfect the art of intervention through the development of prototypes. He joined the Dotter Institute in 1991 as a senior research associate. His current work involves an integrated design of graft, cover and delivery systems. Timmermans’ expertise is in self- and balloon-expandable stents and covered stents, including covered stents for TIPS and for the aorta; occluding devices; delivery systems; and materials and processes. He has contributed to papers on endografts and TIPS tract covered stents.

In his spare time, Timmermans enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, walking, reading, music, and the theater.
