Dr. Masashi Shimohira grew up in Gifu, Japan and completed his undergraduate work at Nagoya City University. He earned his medical degree at Nagoya City University Graduate School of Medical Sciences in Nagoya City, Japan.

Shimohira is interested in embolization, stents and biomaterial covered devices. He presently works for Nagoya City University Hospital in interventional radiology. Most of his work is with TACE of hepatomas, and occasionally stenting of renal iliac and femoral arteries. He also reads CT and MR scans of the abdomen.

In his free time, Shimohira enjoys hiking with is wife and daughter and will appreciate all of the trails in Oregon.
