Khashayar Farsad, M.D., PhD

Dr. Khashayar Farsad joined the Dotter Institute in August 2011. He graduated from Yale University School of Medicine, where he also received a Ph.D. in Cell Biology under a Medical Scientist Training Program grant from the NIH. He completed his internship in General Surgery at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. Afterward, Farsad completed residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, in Boston, MA, where he also served as Chief Resident. He received board certification in Diagnostic Radiology from the American Board of Radiology in 2010. Before joining the Dotter Institute, he completed subspecialty fellowship training in Interventional Radiology and Abdominal Imaging from Massachusetts General Hospital, and is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. In addition, Farsad has received training in structural acupuncture for physicians at Harvard Medical School.

Farsad is interested in minimally invasive image-guided therapy for a variety of disorders, including for cancer, genitourinary disease, hepatobiliary disease, and vascular disease. He hopes to combine his interest in cell biology with his training in image-guided techniques in order to optimize and expand clinically targeted therapies. .

During his free time, Farsad loves spending time with his family, seeks the outdoors, and enjoys playing music.
