Department of Dermatology
The Dermatology Department at OHSU was founded more than 40 years ago
under Dr. Lyle Kingery's guidance and has a long tradition of academic
and clinical excellence. Over the years, leadership has been provided
by doctors Walter Lobitz, Richard Dobson and
Frank Parker, all leading
contributors to the field of dermatology. Dr. Parker, who remains an active
faculty member, recruited and retained many prominent faculty members
who have placed the department in a strong academic position. The department,
presently guided by Dr. Neil A. Swanson,
is establishing itself as the
most outstanding dermatology department on the West Coast. Currently the program has expertise in all the key dermatologic disease, including:
- Atopic dermatitis
- Bullous diseases
- Cosmetic procedures
- Dermatopathology
- Cutaneous t-cell lymphoma
- Hair loss
- Hansen's disease
- Pediatric dermatology
- Laser treatment
- Pigmented diseases
- Surgery and oncology
- Contact and occupational dermatitis
The department has recruited Dr. Molly Kulesz-Martin as the Director of the Dermatology Research Division.
