ADVANCED DERMATOLOGIC SURGERY FELLOWSHIP OVERVIEW
The Advanced Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is a one-year training program accredited by the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS). Under the direction of Neil A. Swanson, M.D., Fellowship Program Director, the curriculum emphasizes comprehensive clinical training in cutaneous surgery and oncology.

The fellow participates in a variety of dermatologic surgery unit activities located at OHSU and the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC). These include Mohs micrographic surgery, reconstructive surgery, dermatologic laser surgery, dermabrasion, sclerotherapy, scar revision, filler materials and other procedures such as destructions, biopsies, cryotherapy, excisions and nail surgery.

The American College of Mohs Surgery currently recognizes more than 70 training centers throughout the country where qualified applicants receive comprehensive training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, including OHSU. During the training program, the fellow completes a minimum of 500 cases on a multitude of different skin cancer cases.

For more information about ACMS accreditation, visit: http://www.mohscollege.org/sisrb/

Candidates considering a career in academic dermatology are strongly encouraged to apply. The fellow is expected to be a role model to residents and medical students, and instruct them in dermatologic surgery during the fellowship.
