Director, Pediatric Dermatology
Dr. Krol is the director of Pediatric Dermatology at OHSU and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. He provides consultation and care for all aspects of pediatric skin disease with a special interest in hemangiomas and vascular anomalies, genetic disorders (particularly keratodermas), and atopic dermatitis. Dr. Krol is active in the American Academy of Dermatology and the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, the parent organizations for dermatology and pediatric dermatology. In June 2000, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology. He is a senior member of the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies. He has served positions on numerous boards and committees related to dermatology administration and education in Canada, including President of the Alberta Society of Dermatologists and Chair of the Specialty Committee for Dermatology of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada; he was a founding member of the Canadian Society for Pediatric Dermatology.
Dr. Krol has lectured internationally, published peer reviewed articles and textbook chapters, and directed national and international courses on pediatric dermatology.

Overview
Alfons L. Krol, M.D., FRCPC received his medical degree from the
University of Alberta and trained in Dermatology and Pediatric Dermatology
at McGill University and the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
From 1987 to 2002, Dr. Krol was the director of Pediatric Dermatology
at the University of Alberta and the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
He also served as director of the Division of Dermatology at the
University of Alberta from 1996 to 2000.
