We invite you to our Fourteenth Conference!!    Please click here for registration details.  For those attending the conference, please read the information below.

The program is now full.    You can view the program here.

Please send in your registration fee if you have not.  Make checks payable to 'CSAIL.'

If you intend to stay at the Hood River Hotel (the conference hotel), you should make reservations now (800-386-1859).  Be sure to tell them that you are with the CSAIL conference, as they hold rooms for us.  PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE THE ENTIRE HOTEL BOOKED FOR OUR CONFERENCE.  HOWEVER, ALL ROOMS AT THE HOOD RIVER HOTEL WILL BE RELEASED 6-15-08. There are other lodging options listed on our terrific web site.  Wherever you stay, you should make reservation before June if possible, as Hood River fills up in the summer.  Also, for the hardy, there is a campground 8 miles from Hood River.

Note that the first session is on Thursday evening at 4:30, the last is Monday morning, ending at 11:30.  (The morning session is from 9: to 10:30, evening sessions, except the first night, are 4:45 to 7:30).  The banquet is on Sunday night.   Most people attend these poster presentations, so it’s like a mini 10-minute talk.

Talks are 30 minutes and we rigorously keep time.  People attending CSAIL are a smart, but diverse group (from psycholinguists to single cell physiologists), so talks and posters should be pitched to the level of a department colloquium.  You should spend some time with the background of your research to bring the diverse audience up to speedWe have a high standard of well prepared and well presented talks.  Talks should be prepared for presentation using a digital projector or either a PC or a Mac..  A VCR will be available as needed.  You will need to bring or borrow a computer.  Note, there are typically both PCs and Macs floating around.  If you don't want to bring a laptop, let us know before the conference, and we can make sure that someone else will have one that  you can use.

If there are others who are attending with you, or just accompanying you but not attending, let us know.  As we get close, there are a lot of activities (river rafting, windsurfing lessons, etc.) that we arrange and it helps if we have everyone’s email address.   See "Bill's Activities Page."

Hood River is about 1 hour from the Portland International Airport.  Most people rent a car and drive to Hood River.  However, if you need us to hook you up with someone with a car, let Bill or Michael  know your arrival time and we will do our best.

Note from Bill:  I usually arrive a week or more before the conference to play and enjoy the splendor of Oregon in the summer.  If you come to Hood River early, give me a call on my cell 510-685-8623.  We will hang out together.  Oregon and Washington are beautiful in the summer.  Our schedule allows for lots of fun activities near Hood River (more of that later*), you may want to extend your stay.

We look forward to another great conference!!  If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.  Michael Sullivan, Bill Prinzmetal, Pierre Jolicoeur

Suggestions and feedback are welcomed.
