Faculty and Staff

	Dana Hargunani, MD, Medical Director Dr. Hargunani became the medical director of the Doernbecher Children’s Safety Center in March of 2006. She is an assistant professor of pediatrics at Oregon Health & Science University within the division of general pediatrics. She has a strong interest in childhood injury prevention, improving access to health care, and advocacy for children at-risk. She is currently enrolled in the Oregon Master’s of Public Health program at Portland State University.
	Scott Shipman, MD, MPH, Founding Director Dr. Shipman is a general pediatrician and health services researcher at Dartmouth Medical School and the Dartmouth Center for the Evaluative Clinical Sciences.  Based at Doernbecher’s Children’s Hospital until early 2006, Dr. Shipman founded the Children’s Safety Center and established it as an essential component of the services provided by Doernbecher Children’s Hospital patients and to the community at large. He remains active in the ongoing development of the Safety Center.
	Matthew Geraths, MA, Outreach Coordinator Matthew became the Outreach Coordinator in August of 2008. For the last five years he has worked as a student teacher at Helen Gordon Child Development Center and is dedicated to early childhood education. Matthew received a Master of Arts in Sociology from Portland State University in 2008. He currently divides his time between promoting the Safety Center’s mission through community outreach and teaching seminars on the family at Portland State. His research interests focus on sociology of the family, globalization and educational sojourning, and social psychology.
	Debi Stabler, M.Ed., Education Coordinator Debi joined the Safety Center staff in January of 2008. She holds a Master of Education from Oregon State University with a focus in administration and counseling. Her professional background includes experience with facility operations, program planning, and staff coordination.
