David Jeffery, assistant professor of psychiatry, joined the division faculty in the
fall of 2003. He received his undergraduate degree from Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he majored
in philosophy. He then attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts and earned an M.A. in religion/philosophical theology.
In 1998, he graduated with a degree in medicine from Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago. Dr. Jeffery trained as a resident in general psychiatry
and a fellow in child psychiatry at OHSU from 1998 to 2003.
Dr. Jeffery's primary clinical responsibility is as a consult liaison to pediatrics at Doernbecher Children's Hospital. He is also director of the
Secure Children's Inpatient Program at Trillium Family Services. During his residency training, Dr. Jeffery volunteered as a camp counselor for
two summers at Camp Starlight, a camp for children infected with HIV or affected by family members with HIV.
His memberships include: the American Psychiatric Association, the Oregon Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent
Psychiatry, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. Dr. Jeffery is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
