Predoctoral Students Predoctoral trainees in the Developmental Biology program at OHSU are outstanding graduate students who have matriculated into either the Program in Molecular and Cellular Biology (PMCB) or the Neuroscience Graduate Program (NGP) at OHSU. Pre-doctoral candidates take courses and complete three laboratory rotations during their first year. Students whose thesis project is focused in an area of developmental biology are eligible to apply for a position in the training program at any time after the first year of graduate studies. PMCB students must have successfully passed the written portion of the qualifying exam that is administered at the end of the first year. Applicants can submit a formal application to the Executive Committee in late summer/early fall for admission into the program during the fall quarter. Although applications are generally accepted in fall quarter, they are also considered throughout the year as additional openings become available. Each predoctoral applicant must submit a curriculum vitae, GRE scores, undergraduate GPA, grades from graduate coursework, a brief thesis research proposal, and a letter of recommendation from his/her mentor.
